The standards-aligned, blended-learning program for community health workers, developed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, consists of two in-person sessions and a fully managed 10-week online course. Each session is optimized to benefit between 1-24 community health workers, plus their supervisors. Pre-course planning. Consultation sessions with a professional health educator to help target and customize the training program for your community.
On-site facilitation. Live one-day, instrutor-led training covering roles and boundaries, communication, cultural competency and an introduction to the technology.
Online facilitated course. Interactive, asynchronous facilitation with experienced health educators during 10-week program. The highly interactive course contains discussion forums, activities, documents for a personal CHW resource manual, videos and audio case studies. View the curriculum.
Assessments and reporting. Pre- and post-course assessments with reporting on access and participation.
Course set-up. Creating new online course space; loading full Community Health Worker Training curriculum; assigning administrative and facilitator staff; initial support.
